Pick the weight, not the bed size
Aim for a blanket close to 10 percent of your child's body weight. It should cover the body, not hang over the mattress edges, and the sleeper must be able to push it off on their own.
Between two sizes? Choose the lighter one. Ask your pediatrician before introducing a weighted blanket, and never use one for babies or toddlers.

Only the cover goes in the washer

Which size should I choose?
Aim for roughly 10 percent of body weight. The 5 lb (36" x 48") suits kids around 40 to 60 lb, the 7 lb (41" x 60") suits kids around 60 to 80 lb, and the 10 lb (48" x 72") suits teens and adults around 90 to 110 lb. Between sizes, pick the lighter one and check with your pediatrician.
How do I wash it?
Untie the 8 ties, unzip the minky cover and machine wash it cold on a gentle cycle, then tumble dry low. The weighted inner blanket should be spot cleaned rather than put in the washer.
Are the glass beads safe?
Yes. The micro glass beads are non-toxic, hypoallergenic and odorless, and they are sealed inside stitched pockets between microfiber layers so they cannot leak under normal use. The fabrics are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified and the blanket meets CPSIA child-safety requirements.
Will it make my child too hot?
The inner blanket uses breathable fabric layers rather than a solid fleece, and the cover is removable, so most children sleep comfortably under it year round. In very warm rooms you can use the inner blanket without the minky cover.
Which colours are available?

Is it suitable for toddlers?

I bought a small navy one for my son and he loves it. So easy to clean and so soft. My older daughter wanted one so I got her one for Christmas. I was really disappointed the purple color is no where near what the picture looks like. I was expecting a more neon bright type purple and it is a deep wine colored purple. Also, even though hers is heavier it feels lighter because it’s a smidge bigger so the weight is dispersed. Didn’t think of that so I wish I had gotten an even heavier one for her. It really doesn’t feel that heavy. Overall they are great blankets though! Think I may grab a white one for myself one day. Zipper cover is so nice for washing!

This fabric wasn't quite the best quality minky I've encountered, but to get the really good super soft stuff, you have to pay over $150 for a custom weighted blanket on Etsy. The Price here is reasonable which I appreciate. I did not find the stitching on either inner blanket or duvet to be of poor quality. What really disappointed me was how full the colors I received are compared to how they are shown in the product photos. They have turned the saturation up so high that it was extremely misleading in my opinion. I now have 2 kids who are upset and crying because "Mommy it's not the right color" and I'm going to have to return at least 1. The aqua color is a dull dark grayish teal. The bright royal blue blanket in the listing is a dark navy. (See my pic).If your kids/recipient is not particular about colors, go for it. If you want muted mature looking colors, these are the blankets for you.

YES!! Our 7 year old who has issues staying asleep all night literally slept ALL NIGHT with this blanket the first night we had it. She LOVES it. It’s super soft! Just the right weight, so soft! I love this blanket, seems very well made. The cover is removable and washable the inside has special instructions for washing enclosed (I didn't get there yet, only had it about a month). My son seems to calm by laying with it on for about 20 mins. He rarely sits still otherwise! Thanks for such a great product, well worth the money!
We ordered this blanket because of the positive reviews here on Amazon. So far, we like it. As others have noted, at least so far, we have had no issues with the weight shifting within the blanket/liner. And our son seems to like it.Immediately after opening the package, we removed the weighted liner from the cover and washed the cover on the gentle cycle. We then dried it in the clothes dryer, again using the gentle cycle. The cover looked fine after the treatment, but on the inside, each of the six ties used to secure the outer cover to the inner weighted liner had begun to fray from just one washing. I didn't think that this issue was large enough to warrant removing a star from the rating, but time will tell if these ties further deteriorate.

My son is 4 years old and is diagnosed with ASD. He crawls, tosses and turns all night in his sleep and sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night as well. I recently noticed he has been covering himself in multiple blankets and pillows to relax in bed. That's when I started researching weighted blankets. After 3 days of having this blanket, his crawling has stopped, which is amazing! It is a life saver and he loves it. The cover is plush minky feeling with a popcorn texture. The zipper is well hidden to help children from opening it. The squares are about 3.75", which is great, because it help distribute the glass beads evenly making the weight in the blanket being spread evenly across. It is also held in place inside the cover by material strips tied to loops. I love this blanket so much I'm considering order the adult one for myself.
Wish I could give this 0 stars. The first bullet point advertising this product states 100% cotton. And for something that is going to be sitting weighted on my kid's skin all night, I wanted something breathable and soft. I was disgusted to see that this is, in fact 100% polyester. If I wanted cheap polyester I would have searched for that and expected to pay way less for the product. Now I have to deal with returning it. If this company is dishonest about one thing, I would be hard pressed to believe that all the other assurances of the product's safety are likewise falsified. Very disappointed.

My autistic daughter loves it!Update!I have never washed the blanket inside. I only wash the exterior and retie it from the inside and use it over her other blankets. Well, Today I was going to wash it and all the inside beads went all over my washer, dryer, floor, inside my washer, all over my clean sheets inside my washer, and I was freaking out! I don’t know if it was toxic or could clog my washer! This is scary considering my child uses it. I don’t know if I can recommend this one anymore. I will look now for weighted without any beads!
It’s very soft and seems to be the perfect weight for my son. He’s 6yrs old and 45lbs. The true test is tonight when he sleeps with it, but so far he loves it! Immediately laid it on top of him to read a book.Update: 4/15/20 - Blanket is still great! My son sleeps with it every night. Unfortunately, the size I got him is too small. The blanket lays on top of the sheet, but he gets frustrated that it doesn’t cover his feet all the way. I’ll most likely have to upgrade to a larger size.
